My name is CJ Barberan and I finished my PhD (April 2022) at Rice University working with Richard G. Baraniuk. From my research section, I have been focusing on deep learning, explainable deep learning, and computer vision.


Now I work at Microsoft in MAIDAP.

Hobbies

I partake in kickboxing  and have been practicing for about 2-3 years. Everyone should try, especially when research results are not fruitful that day.

I enjoy playing fantasy football and have been ever since I started my PhD. The previous year I had the best regular season performance where I only lost one match and had a 13 game winning streak. The pic below shows my lineup at the end of the regular season.
